Ia memiliki tiga gelar akademis, dokter (dr); dokter spesialis anestesiologi (Sp.An); dan Magister Sains (M.Si).

Selepas kuliah, Taufik Eko bekerja di Undip dengan status dosen tetap.

Dirinya memiliki jabatan fungsional lektor.

Taufik Eko juga menjabat sebagai Kaprodi PPDS Anestesiologi dan Terapi Intensif Fakultas Kedokteran Undip.
